When the owners of Crate Colorado Springs reached out to create a custom backdrop for their retail space, we set to work to design and then create, this interpretation of Pikes Peak Mountain! We went back and forth on color schemes and ultimately landed on this beautiful orange/golden scheme. They wanted to incorporate some very “Colorado” elements so we added Colorado’s state flower – the Columbine, and an elk bugling. These were cut out of a board and layered on the final part of the mural.
The challenges of this mural were creating the multi-layered effect on the install pieces prior to putting it on the wall. The vision must be locked in and finalized before I can start on a project like this or it could have caused some big issues! Thankfully, we did the legwork ahead of time so that I could hit the ground running! This whole mural can be moved with the exception of the very top part that would need to be re-painted if/when they move locations.
Every project is so unique because every individual I work with is so unique. You have a part in developing your next work of art!
If you have a concept you would love to see come to life, but don’t know where to start please feel free to text, call, or email!
